We collect as little as we can and we don’t sell your data. Here’s exactly what happens to your information when you use School of Mahjong.
What we collect
Payment information: when you buy Pro, Stripe collects and processes your payment. We receive a record that you’re a paying member and the email you used, but we never see or store your full card number.
Access cookie: once you’re Pro, we store a small signed cookie on your device so the Service knows to unlock your lessons. It isn’t used to track you across other websites.
Learning progress: your lesson progress, drill streaks, and similar practice data are stored locally in your own browser (localStorage). They stay on your device and aren’t sent to us.
Basic analytics: we use Vercel’s privacy-friendly analytics to count page views and understand which lessons are popular. It’s aggregate and anonymous — no advertising cookies, no cross-site profiles.
How we use it
We use this information to provide the Service: to unlock Pro lessons for paying members, process payments and refunds, answer your emails, and improve the lessons based on what’s being used.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it except with the service providers below who help us run the site.
Who we share it with
Stripe processes payments (see Stripe’s privacy policy). Vercel hosts the site and provides the aggregate analytics. That’s the whole list — we keep the number of third parties small on purpose.
Your choices
You can clear your browser’s localStorage to erase your saved progress, and clear cookies to remove your access cookie. To see what data we hold about your membership, or to ask us to delete it, just email us.
The Service isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
