These terms cover your use of School of Mahjong (the “Service”) at schoolofmahjong.com. By using the Service you agree to them. We’ve kept them short and in plain English.
What we offer
School of Mahjong is an educational website that teaches American Mahjong through interactive lessons, practice tools, and drills. The first three lessons and all of the practice tools are free; a one-time $39 purchase unlocks the full lesson track, the drills, the simulator, and the AI coach.
We teach the structure, mechanics, and strategy of the game. We are an independent teaching site and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL). We do not reproduce any year’s official card; playing along at a club requires your own copy, which we encourage you to buy from the League.
The Service is provided for instruction and entertainment. We don’t guarantee any particular result, score, or outcome at a real table.
Your access
You don’t need to create a password-based account to use the Service. Pro access is tied to your device through a secure cookie, and you can restore it on another device using the email you bought it with.
Keep your access to yourself. A single purchase is for one person’s personal use. Don’t resell, share, or commercially redistribute the lessons or tools.
Purchase and access
The full course is a one-time purchase of $39, with an optional $19 Game-Night Kit add-on. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
Once you buy, your access is yours to keep. There is no recurring charge, no renewal, and nothing to cancel. Restore your access on any device from your account page using the email you bought with.
Prices may change at any time, but a change only ever applies to future purchases, never to something you have already bought.
Refunds
We keep refunds simple and friendly. See our Refund Policy for the details, the short version is that the first three lessons and every tool are free to try first, and if a paid charge leaves you unhappy, email us within 14 days and we’ll refund it.
Acceptable use
Please don’t try to break, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service, and don’t use it to do anything unlawful. The lessons, copy, code, illustrations, and the teaching method are our intellectual property, you may use them to learn, not to copy or republish.
We may suspend access that abuses the Service or violates these terms.
Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, School of Mahjong is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date below always reflects the current version, and continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which School of Mahjong is operated.
