Definition
The card is the annual sheet published by the National Mah Jongg League listing every hand that can win that year, reissued each April with new hands.
Every player needs the current card. We teach how to read its notation and how to recognise which category your tiles are pointing at; we never reproduce the card itself.
Read the full guide: How to Read the Mahjong Card: The Notation, Decoded.
See it on real tiles: the coach reads any hand and names its direction, free, at the free read. Members get the coach on call for their own games.
More terms: Pung, Kong, Quint, Pair, Charleston, Blind pass, Courtesy pass, Joker.
